In the time it takes you to read this job description our low earth orbit nanosatellites would have passed overhead at least three times traveling at around 8km a second. Onboard the satellites are collecting and downloading radio signals from over 80 thousand vessels that are moving 90% of the world's cargo around the globe.

Pre-sales and post-sales support, training, implementation, onboarding, and being a true advocate for the customer are critical responsibilities of this role. Spire Maritime is looking for a Sales Engineer to join our Sales team and help accelerate our new and existing customer growth. As a Sales engineer you will be the primary technical contact to customers on behalf of Spire's maritime products.
Responsibilities of your role:
Own the customer journey. Execute product demos. Onboard our customers.
As a high value-add partner to sales executives, survey and analyze our data to identify and develop potential and new business opportunities for our products and services.
Identify and own critical product issues that impact customers and work with our data team to resolve them.
Directly support our Sales and Customer Success team to ensure the technical needs of new and existing customers are prioritized and addressed.
Deliver peak levels of customer service at all times, responding to customer inquiries and working with customers to replicate and resolve issues.
Maintain technical content within our knowledge base and developer portal to help our customers quickly find answers
Work closely with sales executives, product management, marketing, engineering and account contacts to deliver and support high-level technical sales presentations.
Serve as the voice-of-the-customer, helping to influence future product and strategy direction across all functions of the business.
Qualifications / Experience:
2+ years of experience in a customer-facing engineering, pre-sales, or technical sales engineering role
Situational awareness and business acumen skills to support self-held critical values of professionalism, humility, and customer-focus
Highly technical, organized, and analytical, with ability to eliminate sales obstacles through creative/innovative thinking
Strong communications, interpersonal, and presentation skills, in both written and verbal formats
Working knowledge of REST APIs, TCP/IP, SaaS infrastructure, and Linux
Replicating and resolving customer issues
Familiarity with Python, Bash, SQL and Big Data analytics platforms (BigQuery, Redshift, etc.)
Writing knowledge base articles
Quality assurance testing of APIs
Bachelor's degree or higher strongly preferred
Strong candidates will also possess skills in one or more of the following areas:
Building software automation that interacts with Google Cloud Platform and/or Amazon Web Services
Knowledge of maritime domain processes and experience working with customers in the maritime domain
Experience using Esri ArcGIS or other GIS platforms
Defining and publishing product usage metrics for company dashboards
