Spire Global is a space-to-cloud analytics company that owns and operates the largest multi-purpose constellation of satellites. Its proprietary data and algorithms provide the most advanced maritime, aviation, and weather tracking in the world. In addition to its constellation, Spire’s data infrastructure includes a global ground station network and 24/7 operations that provide real-time global coverage of every point on Earth.
Lead our brand marketing to build an iconic global brand. We are looking for a Head of Brand and Communications, reporting to the CEO, to lead branding efforts across all our products, taking into consideration everything that we do; designing and manufacturing satellites, collecting data from space, building data products, (maritime, aviation, weather), and delivering customized solutions via our Space-as-a-service and Government businesses.
This candidate is the “Chief Storyteller” of Spire, the person that ensures our internal and external touchpoints are consistent, telling the same story, invoking the same emotions, and reflecting our values (Global, Reliable, Relentless, Faster, Unbounded, Collaborative). Our storytelling efforts must be executed in a strategic way that positions Spire as a data company that solves some of the world’s most difficult problems with data from space. Working cross-functionally with various Spire business lines, this is a visible role that will have the opportunity to operate independently and be the company thought leader in our branding and marketing communication efforts.
A stellar candidate is not only strong on brand and storytelling, but also fully understands the marketing funnel, ROI and the importance of executing tightly integrated brand marketing campaigns. This candidate is data-driven, understands marketing KPI’s, and will utilize lead teams across PR, Events and Creative Services to achieve their goals.
Define the brand architecture, brand framework, brand positioning and Spire story that we need to tell
Propagate the Spire brand story through internal communications, public relations, corporate communications, events, content and strategic campaigns
Create an overarching thought-leadership strategy for our Brand and Marketing
Execute on that strategy utilizing integrated marketing communications tactics via digital and traditional media and advertising channels; and working with internal/external partners.
Drive Growth by developing and executing multi-touchpoint campaigns that tell the story of our customers and the role we play in making their lives better
Build, lead, and manage a tactical execution team comprised of PR leads, Event managers and Content managers who can provide support across all of Spire’s businesses
Spearhead our investor and analyst relations, ensuring that Spire’s brand and story is communicated consistently
Own the Spire.com website, working with key stakeholders to define how to improve the website’s impact on their business objectives
Win Leadership support for the brand strategy and initiatives using both data, personal influence, and credibility based on experience
Measure ROI and KPIs; closely monitor campaign results and produce timely reporting to the leadership team
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, MBA preferred
10+ years of diverse and progressively senior full life-cycle marketing experience, from strategic planning through go-to-market execution, and strategic brand building across multiple products
5+ years of people management experience
Ability to assimilate business group strategy/objectives to develop brand programs that support business goals in a B2B and B2G environment
Proven track record of B2B storytelling, weaving relevant narratives, connecting brand, products, and possibilities into delivering a premium product experience and pricing.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn quickly
Comfortable navigating and leading in dynamic situations; able to operate in a start-up environment, where leaders are owners, wear multiple hats, and effortlessly think and act both strategically and tactically
Demonstrated ability to use qualitative and quantitative data to demonstrate ROI and drive good decision-making
Excellent communicator in English, both verbally and written
Experience leading brand efforts across companies with multiple, complex products
Experience in the data-as-a-service or space industries a big plus.
