Lemur Satellite
The Lemur satellite is a nanosatellite developed by Spire Global, a company specialising in collecting data from space to provide analytics and insights to customers. The Lemur satellite is part of Spire’s constellation of small satellites in low Earth orbit, which collect data on various factors such as weather, maritime traffic, and aircraft tracking. The Lemur satellite has multiple sensors and instruments, including an Automatic Identification System (AIS) receiver, a weather sensor, and a GPS receiver. The collected data is then transmitted back to Earth and processed to provide insights to customers in the shipping, aviation, and weather forecasting industries.
