As a Sales Manager, you are accountable for the success of your business within a region or vertical, owning the performance of the Spire space-based data portfolio. You are expected to easily gain a strong understanding of the external business environment. Your key focus is building partnerships with prospects, driving them through the sales process until they become existing customers. Overall, there is a strong expectation that you will periodically raise the bar on the customer experience and advocate on their behalf to internal functions.

The successful candidate will need to show off a clear professional growth throughout their career, backed up by a desire to continue to develop. You are ready to own customer activities across dimensions, from operations, to tactics, to strategy. The successful candidate has a perfect command of English, synthesizes complex topics in just a few sentences, and is able to see the long-term value to be created for the company. You are at ease collaborating with internal cross-functional teams, organizing them and giving direction. You will be collaborating in a very lean and agile team with opportunities to drive initiatives to generate new business pipeline and improve customer experience.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Identify outbound prospects and their business needs and engage them in 1:1 dialogue.
  • Drive outbound New Business pipeline generation, meeting sales targets through rigorous prospection and opportunity qualification.
  • Manage the end-to-end customer experience across the entire Spire Sales Process.
  • Ensure that internal processes and products get updated based on customer and industry insights that you periodically gather.
  • You conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets by creating a pipeline of accounts that you drive from prospecting to deal closure over an average of 90 days towards 6 digits sales targets. You take ownership and accountability of your quota targets and provide data-centric forecasting of deal outcomes.
  • You have a thorough understanding of the industry, business trends, events, and continually monitor both industry and competitor developments.
  • You understand customer needs and use that knowledge to advocate for, and drive delivery of, improvements that provide Spire customers with an unparalleled experience.
  • You build your own industry network – other companies look up to you to gather industry support.
  • You coordinate across cross-functional teams and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, all while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Have a complete understanding (inclusive of the strategic context) of internal and external variables that impact your business. This includes owning forecasting, analyzing data, understanding, and reporting on the business.
  • You will closely collaborate with SDRs and the Marketing Team to develop, execute, and provide feedback on marketing campaigns to drive new business.
  • Responsible for keeping accurate customer and pipeline data on CRM for reporting and forecasting.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration.
  • Experience using data to influence business decisions.
  • Experience with deal-level business analysis.
  • Demonstrated success and growth in previous roles.
  • Be self-starting and intellectually curious.
  • Track record of career growth.
  • Career growth expectations and growth mindset.
  • Prior experience in SaaS/Data sales.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of sales, account management in an international environment.
  • Degree in business, commercial or sales, from a top tier university.
  • Experience driving strategic and complex initiatives through cross-functional teams.
  • Track record of interviewing sales professionals into the team that you’re a part of.
  • Track record of buddying, coaching or mentoring other senior sales professionals

 

Spire operates a hybrid work model, and this position will require you to work a minimum of three days per week in the office.
