Vessel to Port ETA data
Vessel to Port ETA provides accurate destination and vessel ETA information, making it a must-have for everyday operations.
What is Spire’s Vessel to Port ETA?
With AIS fields oftentimes empty, outdated, incorrect or illegible due to manual processes, Spire Maritime offers an independent prediction of destination and vessel arrival ETA data . This provides users with a more precise ETA value, independently of what vessels report via their AIS.
Vessel to Port ETA frequently pre-calculates routes and ETAs, and makes them immediately available when querying the information from the API. Unlike other similar solutions, Vessel to Port ETA allows users to query multiple vessels at once, and to get information in bulk without additional waiting time.
Routes are also recalculated whenever vessels deviates from their predicted route, to provide the most recent and relevant information about the vessel even if/when they take unexpected routes.
Next port is predicted
A series of factors, such as vessel position, heading, and historical tracks of similar vessels are used to find the most probable ports the vessel will call next. The predicted next port is continuously updated to also take into account deviations or destination changes of vessels.
Best route is decided
Routes are calculated based on the most probable next port, taking into account the respective vessel, its type, size, draught and historically typical routes, leading to the most likely route the vessel will take.
ETA is calculated
ETA is calculated using routes and vessels service speed and speed distribution. Routes are recalculated if there are deviations from the expected route. Checks and recalculations are carried out every 15 mins for all applicable vessels worldwide, if the next port remains the same.
