Job Description:

Spire Glasgow are seeking a Quality Engineer to monitor and improve the quality of our operational processes and outputs.

As a Quality Engineer at Spire, you will be responsible for performing process audits, supporting issues with materials, equipment, processes, and products, developing quality control systems, and determining corrective actions.

The Quality Engineer will also work with managers and supervisors to implement quality measures with their related teams.

To be successful as a Quality Engineer at Spire the ideal candidate should have excellent troubleshooting skills and be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Collate, monitor, measure yield data and produce relevant reporting
  • Review supplier documentation (FAIRS, CofCs, Critical Dimension etc)
  • Supplier performance improvement activities, including NC reports, score carding etc
  • Investigate any quality issues to identify root cause and raise appropriate corrective action paperwork and ensure issues are addressed and resolved via 8D process
  • Perform Internal and External system audits to ensure compliance to Spire QMS
  • Create and maintain QMS documentation
  • Review Engineering Change instruction for Manufacturing use.
  • Support manufacturing with workflow creation and changes
  • Liaise with suppliers and the engineering department to answer engineering queries.
  • Provide Quality support in the areas of inspection, Goods Inwards, and AIT process
  • Ensure all incidents of non-conformance are recorded
  • Provide feedback to management on performance in areas of responsibility
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities

Basic Qualifications:

  • HNC in an Engineering discipline
  • Relevant experience working in a Quality role
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced engineering environment
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System
  • Demonstrated ability to drive RCCA to closure

Preferred Skills/Experience: 

  • Knowledge of reading Mechanical & Schematic Drawings
  • Certified ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor
  • Experience of document control
